Hello Old Sport! - A Sport Weight Vanilla Sock Pattern

A simple tried and true vanilla sock recipe using sport weight yarn.

This is a cuff down vanilla sock pattern . Length of leg and foot are customizable. While any style cuff, heel and toe may be I do give instructions for my faves.

YARN: 100 grams of sport weight yarn. 75% sw merino/25% nylon. 328yds/100 grams.

A contrast color for the cuffs, heels and/or toes is optional but adds a nice look (20-25 grams)

NEEDLES: US size 2 (2.75mm) Choose your favorite way to knit in the round: DPN’s, magic loop, 9” circular will all work great.

SIZES: Socks are measured using the circumference of your foot (measured at widest part of your foot). Typically socks are knit giving yourself 1-1.5” of negative ease. Sizes: XS(S, M, L)
Measuring: 6.75” (7.25”, 7.75”, 8.25”)
