Let's get this party started via blog forum!
My name is Laura and I am the owner and creator of Back Porch Fiber Co.
This business has morphed from a little hand dyed yarn hobby into a full blown knitting and crochet notion business. I've carried a variety of products over the years, I even have some that I still carry today that I started with on day one. I have seen products come and go as I figure out what works best and what you all need most. But ultimately I am here for all of you. I carry items in my shop that I personally use (or a variation of) so I know first hand the benefit of what I'm selling in my shop.
One of the things I enjoy most is bringing new products to the shop, I make about half the items in my shop and the other half I outsource through wholesalers. I really enjoy playing around with items I can personally make and sell in my shop, examples include, all my stationary items, my beaded stitch markers, progress keepers, project bags and more. I will forever continue to make products for you all as long as the demand is there and BPFCo is open.
I have ventured into the world of Fiber Festivals including the Lambtown Festival in Dixon, CA and the Fiber Frolic in Walnut Creek, CA. I plan on doing more this next year as well as having a pop up at some local yarn shops. My ultimate dream is to have a traveling yarn store. Which means I would expand my product line to carry yarn (some hand dyed and some outsourced) and travel around particularly to areas that don't have a local yarn store. Basically I'd be bringing a yarn store to you. We'll see where this dream goes in the next couple years. But I talk a lot about it and just need to figure out the logistics of it all.
That's all for now!
Stay tuned for my next post about my knitting journey. I'll share how I started knitting, how long I've been knitting, my favorite things to knit and more!
